The iPhone 5S was released last September while the Galaxy S5 was released earlier this month.
Statistics reaching us on Thursday morning suggests that Samsung’s own fruit did better than Apple’s in North America during the first weekend.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 held control of 25% of the total number of smartphones sold in the US during it’s first weekend. In Canada, the Samsung Galaxy S5 accounted for 18% of the entire smartphones sold during the same period.
Compared to Apple’s iPhone 5S’ first weekend, it seems North America has a new champion. The iPhone 5S had 18% of the sales in America on it’s first weekend while in Canada, it held sway of just 13%.
As it stands now, if the Galaxy S5 keeps up with speed, Samsung might be able to oust Apple in their homeland soon.
