Many concentrated on the SGS5 having a 3GB RAM and other stuff, but Samsung did the upgrades elsewhere. First, they added a fingerprint sensor, heartbeat monitor and a dust and water proof capabilities for the fifth generation of their Galaxy S lineup.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 5.1-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. That’s large though, but that’s inconsolable to Sammy fans who thought the S5 will bear a 2K resolution display.

Samsung Galaxy S5, just like it’s predecessor, offers two versions based on the type of processor — one has Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 5420, the other has a quad-core¬†Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 tuned at 2.5GHz. The device comes with 2GB of RAM, amid rumors it will hoard a 3GB on on board, like Sony’s Xperia Z2 which was also announced today.

The smartphone measures 142.0 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm, the S5 is bigger, taller and fatter than the S4 which measures 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm and weighs 130 grams while the former tips the scale at 145 grams.

The Galaxy S5, with it’s Snapdragon 801 chipset, can record 4K videos at 30fps. The camera itself is a 16MP sensor; and we haven’t heard anything about the secondary camera.
