While we reported about the next generation of Samsung’s hybrid Galaxy Tab S series, we just got graphical confirmation of one of the tablets’ existence and specs.
Last year’s Samsung Galaxy Tab S (8.4″ and 10.5″) were produced as hybrid tablets and it looked like Samsung hasn’t dropped the motive behind this array of tablets. According to evidence filed at GFXBench after one of the devices was tested there (phones and tablets are usually tested with benchmarks programs and other apps to ensure smooth runtime), the device Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7″ (Samsung SM-T815) is packing a 2048 x 1536 pixels touchscreen.
Other details include a 3GB RAM, 32GB of storage, 8-megapixel back camera, 2MP front-facer and a single SIM slot. The OS running on the device was listed as Android 5.0.1 Lollipop while the CPU was a 64-bit Samsung Exynos 5 Octa (with quad Cortex A53 CPU cores and quad Cortex A57 CPU cores) processor.
The 2015 Mobile World Congress is only days away. Samsung is very likely to unveil the Galaxy Tab S2 tablets there but we can’t tell for now, considering there’s no official word on it.
