In India, Samsung Electronics has released the much-touted Samsung J1 budget smartphone today (Wednesday). The handset was officially announced two weeks ago but no pricing details were made know as of then.
On Amazon.in, the phone costs a lowly set 7,190 Indian rupees which roughly translates to $115 using the current exchange rates. The product is likely to available from other sources but in due time.
For the records, the Samsung J1 features a 4.3″ WVGA touchscreen, a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of expandable storage, a 5-megapixel main camera at the back and a front-facing 2MP snapper. The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and comes with a 1850mAh battery which supports 10 hours of talk time.
