South Korean tech company, Samsung was earlier in the year revealed to be working on a foldable smartphone for the market. The tech company was also reported to have filed for a patent right for owning and designing the foldable smartphone.
However, the tech company has put a timeline to the release of the smartphone which it had been working on for years as Samsung on Tuesday revealed during the unveiling of the Note 8 that it will be releasing the first foldable smartphone in 2018.
According to the company’s president, DJ Koh, the smartphone had presented several obstacles to the tech company but irrespective of the setbacks, the company revealed that its goal is to launch the device in 2018.
The tech company through its top official however stated that the launch of the much anticipated first foldable smartphone will only hold after issues surrounding the design and build have been properly sorted.
Tech analysts predict that it will take some time before the company can indeed go into the mass production of the foldable Galaxy smartphone.
Rumors indicate that the device may most likely come into town with two AMOLED display screens.
