Gionee has gathered a lot of media attention since it’s Elife E5.5 smartphone became the world’s thinnest smartphone at a wafer-thin 5.5 millimeter thickness. And before anyone could come close to that kind of slim, the Chinese company wants to reveal an even thinner smartphone.
Gionee GN9005 was seen passing through the certification and approval process at TENAA, an organization which sees to the standards of electronic products in China.
Coming down to the specs department, the GN9005 isn’t doing badly. With a 4.8″ HD display,quad-core 1.2GHz CPU, a gig of RAM and 16GB of native storage, the smartphone can pass for a higher-than-avaerage midranger.
According to the TEENA listing, the device will have an 8MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera combination. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 2,050mAh battery which is massive compared to the body mass to battery ratio of the phone. The Gionee GN9005 also features 4G connectivity, but that will be compatible to China Mobile’s TD-LTE bands. The phone is likely to debut by the end of this month.
