Two million units of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus pre-ordered in China under 6 hours

Not even deterred by the bendgate scandal trailing on Apple’s shadow, the Chinese have shown a very warm welcome to the new Apple iPhone 6 as well as it’s bigger sibling, the Apple iPhone 6 Plus.

Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus China
This was made known by a top Chinese news publication website, Feng. The media outfit reported that the three major carriers in China — namely China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom — have raked in a total of 2 million pre-orders for the two new iPhones, and that’s just in the first 6 hours.

There is no way to confirm this report and some sections of the crowd will probably say it’s not possible., considering the presence of Xiaomi, Samsung, Huawei and other preferred brands China used to like. However, it’s good to point out that China has a population of 1.2 billion people, making it the biggest smartphone market in the world.

Furthermore, this is the first time Apple will be releasing iPhone with the 4G network bands that are compatible with Chinese frequencies. Earlier iPhones didn’t support the FDD-LTE variant of 4G and the like, causing data-sensitive users to shun iPhones.

With that being said, Apple will start accepting direct pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus come 10th October. We hope to see some official figures announced after the sales. It will be recorded that the Cupertino company booked 4 million pre-orders for the two smartphones on their first 24 hours.
