After two years Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 starts receiving Android Nougat 7.1.1
Samsung appears to not have forgotten it’s tablet, the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 as the device has after two years been visited with the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.

Users of the device can now proceed to their settings tab to check for the latest update push to their device.

The roll out of the Android Nougat update comes months after the device was spotted online running the latest OS update.

The device was thereafter reported to have passed certification from Wi-Fi Alliance for the update but there was no exact estimated timeline for the update release until now.

The update brings along with it major changes for the device which includes a new set of emoji coupled with the ability to send GIFs directly from the keyboard in select apps.

Additionally, the update brings better and easier shortcuts along with a renamed TouchWiz which has now been renamed the Samsung Experience.

Following this release, we are expecting the South Korean tech giant to roll out more updates to smartphones in its line in the coming weeks.

The latest Android 7.1.1 OS update is available for the tablet users in European market to include Spain,  Italy, Hungary,  Ireland and Germany.
