Verizon throws in the towel, accepts to release battery-killing update to the Note 7

Samsung is just about tired of people not keying in and giving them time of day when it comes to the various moves with which they have tried to recall the units of the Note 7 that are still in the market and now, they are willing to take a more forceful approach. In what is already confirmed news, the South Korean OEM would start to roll out a set of co-ordinated updates in the US that would ensure that the Note 7 units in the reign cannot charge at all anymore, turning it to a useless piece of hardware in the hands of anyone that still has one.
Expected to start rolling out on the 19th of December, Verizon had earlier given its users some hope to hold on to when it stubbornly stated that it would not be rolling out this kind of update at all but it seems that things have changed now, with the Big Red informing its customers via an email that they would commence the rollout of this kind of software too, setting their own date at 5th January.

Despite all of the pride that came from the subscriber, they are not even the last to start pushing out the update now with Sprint holding out to a little further – the 8th of January.
