Windows Phone 8.1 Phone has finally arrived on most Nokia Lumia smartphones and tablets, just like we told you it will.
“The Lumia Cyan update gives you great new Windows Phone 8.1 features like a more personal Start screen, Action Center and the Word Flow keyboard. We’ve also improved your favourite Nokia imaging apps. Nokia Camera, Nokia Storyteller and Creative Studio have all been updated. It’s the best Lumia experience yet.” Nokia wrote in a press release.
The Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, just like mentioned above, adds the much needed notification center to Lumia phones among a lot of features including a wholly refreshed user interface.
The update is available to users in North America, Asia Pacific, Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. The list of supported devices includes the Nokia Lumia 520, 520T, 521, 525, 526, 620, 625, 630, 630 Dual SIM, 635, 720, 720T, 810, 820, 822, 920, 920T, 925, 925T, 928, 930, Icon, 1020, 1320 and the 1520 tablet.
A Cyan update we experimented on the Nokia Lumia 520 used about 400 megabytes to upgrade so users who wish to upgrade should keep at least 1GB of free space on the native storage and make available 500MB of data.
There was no mention of Windows Phone 8.1 virtual assistant, Cortana, in the update but we hope a later update will bring her to Lumia smartphones.
