Xiaomi breaks into Nigerian market with Redmi 2, Mi 4

Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in Asia (and based in China) but recently, the smartphone brand got usurped at the top of the table by none other than Huawei as the largest smartphone manufacturer of the region. This has pushed Xiaomi into a lot of plans and has made sure that most of the plans on ground gets pushed to actualization. One of those plans is business expansion.

Xiaomi has then expanded its business beyond the shores of China and Asia and now into Africa. First landing in South Africa a while ago, Xiaomi has now brought is awesome cost effective wares to Nigeria likewise. This entrance to Nigeria would be facilitated with a partnership with Jumia – Nigeria’s leading online retailer – and Mobile In Africa (MIA) Initiative.

Launching the Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Mi 4 in the Nigerian market, the Redmi 2 would sell for about NGN29,000 on Jumia while the Mi 4 would go for NGN56,000.
