We have expected them for so long, we have anticipated them for many days and we have leaked them for hours on end and the only consolation that we could have had now is the launch as at when due. Even rumoured to be coming under a different name than we have always heard and leaked it with, it debunked all those rumours today when Xiaomi launched two new smartphones into the market – the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus.
On the Mi 5s, we see that it has retained the same 5.15 inches of screen as seen on the Mi 5 but it uses a QUALCOMM snapdragon 820 chipset instead, as well as a host of other newbies.
For the Mi 5s, there is a version that carries 4GB RAM with 128GB internal storage space and this one uses a pressure sensitive display. It has a 64GB model which would be sold for $300 and the bigger 128GB variant would sell for $345 instead.
Going to the bigger Mi 5s Plus, the screen for this one was increased to a total of 5.7 inches and it also makes use of a dual camera setup on the back, both set at 13MP. The front of the device is further adorned with a 4MP shooter.
Going further still under the hood, we would find 6GB of RAM in there and a fairly big battery set at 3800mAh. For this battery, there is also support for QuickCharge 3.0.
For all that we have listed, the model with 6GB/128GB would sell for $389 while the one that carries just 4GB with 64GB storage would be sold for $345.
