Xiaomi has been in prime position to launch a new smartphone and keep their market green for a while but this smartphone – the Xiaomi Mi 5 – is yet to see the light of day and the reason is not far-fetched. This device is one of the high end devices that are in queue for the Snapdragon 820 chipset by Qualcomm to drop.
Having launched its last latest device of its flagship series (the Xiaomi Mi 4) a little over 15 months ago, Xiaomi has aimed at keeping its phones relevant by re-mixing the make of the Mi 4 and going on to launch two other variants to this device which has been named the Xiaomi Mi 4i and the Xiaomi Mi 4c. These are surely going to keep the lovers of Xiaomi engaged for a while and also, make sure that their name doesn’t die off the news but Xiaomi has put other measures in play.
The Chinese smartphone outfit has announced a 17% discount on all of its Xiaomi Mi 4 devices. The device, which used to cost around $240 now sells for a price of $200 and can be directly ordered from the manufacturer themself.
As a reminder to what you’ll be getting at this discounted price, the Xiaomi Mi 4 device comes with a 5.5 inch screen which has its resolution set at 1080 x 1920 pixels. There’s a Snapdragon 801 chipset (which as at 15 months ago, was the prime) and a processor clocked at 2.5GHz of operational frequency. Sporting 2GB of RAM, the coupling of rear and front cameras comes in at 13MP and 8MP respectively. The device runs on Android 4.4.3 outside of the box and a 3080mAh battery keeps the power up.
