While it’s not been up to six months since the Beijing-based tech company released their current flagship — Xiaomi Mi4, reports from China has it that the “Apple of China” is prepping to update it’s Mi series as early as January next year.
The story has it that Xiaomi Mi 5 is going to debut at 2015’s CES event which is bound to happen live in Las Vegas, USA starting from January next year.
Rumors circulating in the mobile industry earlier suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will break cover with a 5.5-inch, QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) IPS touchscreen. The device is said to be packing a Snapdragon 805 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM.
Xiaomi’s plan to penetrate 10 markets by the end of this year may have stiffed, but then the phone maker isn’t doing bad in 5 of those countries reached. “It’s been really good so far,” VP Hugo Barra was quoted saying when he was addressing the audience about his company’s venture into Indonesia.
