The much expected successor in the Xiaomi Mi band might just hit the stores soon. How soon? December 3! as Chinese tipster Leaksfly in its Weibo post claimed Xiaomi will launch the Mi 5 flagship device at an event on December 3. The device is rumoured to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and further rumours to hint that Qualcomm might release their Snapdragon 820 chipset on November 20 ahead of the Xiaomi’s Mi 5 official launch seeing as the SoC company has been teasing the features of the chipset but without an official release date as yet.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 Leaks online so far have suggested that the flagship device may be the first to run the Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and in case the chipset company Qualcomm fails to announce officially the SoC before the Mi 5 launch, the expected smartphone is tipped to run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC that’s been already used in the Nexus 6P device, other rumours claim that Xiaomi might go for a MediaTek deca-core Helio X20 processor.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to have features such as a 5.3-inch QHD display with resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and a pixel density of 554ppi, 4GB of RAM, variants of 16GB and 64GB on internal storage space, Adreno 530 GPU, a dual LED flash 16MP rear facing camera powered by a 3030mAh battery.
