Xiaomi has confirmed the September 11 launch of its upcoming smartphone, the Mi Mix 2, however, it appears the tech company might be planning a little surprise for fans as recent information has suggested that the Mi Note 3, a successor to the Mi Note 2 may be unveiled on the same day.
According to the tech company, the Mi Mix 2, a second generation bezel-less smartphone will not be coming into market alone.
The information which was made available on China’s biggest social media platform, Weibo, hints that the tech company’s President, Bin Lin suggested the possible unveiling of yet another device on the same day as the Mi Mix 2’s big day.
Lin Bin also revealed that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will arrive packing the Face Unlock feature although past rumors and design leaks have been silent on the facial recognition sensor.
Other rumors indicate that the Mi Mix will be coming with a one of a kind design in that the Selfie camera will instead be mounted on the bottom part of the front panel as against the usual top bezel location.
For the Mi Note 3 however, the device is expected to launch with a Super AMOLED QHD display produced by South Korean OEM, Samsung. It is also expected to feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset paired with up to 8GB RAM.
For the Mi Mix 2, the device is believed to be coming with a 6.2-inch QHD display and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood paired with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage.
