Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, has revealed that its Redmi 1S smartphone which was released four years ago will be getting the MIUI 9 global rollout.
Recall that the Chinese tech compnay had released a list of 40 smartphones which will be getting the new user interface.
Some old phones will however be a part of the update rollout and it appears some more older variants will be getting the UI update also.
The Xiaomi Redmi 1S will be getting the stable MIUI 188.8.131.52 but there is a catch to this seeing as the device stays rigged on the Android OS 4.4.4 KitKat with security update dated back to October 2016.
The smartphone came into the market with a Quad-core CPU paired with 1GB of RAM. The OS update comes with features such as Split Screen, Search for Apps, Dual Apps, and a customizable Quick Cards which open with a right swipe from the Home screen.
