Hurray Xiaomi fans in India, your favorite (and only) Redmi smartphone will be getting updated to fix a lot of common issues some of you might have been experiencing.

Xiaomi Redmi 1s gets updated
According to the company themselves, the Xiaomi Redmi 1s is getting an OTA update which will help it stay in shape and avoid overheating problems that a number of users companied about.

“Today we released an over-the-air system update (v45) for the Redmi 1S. This release incorporates feedback received from a large number of users and addresses a few important issues.”

There will be a better RAM management for the device after the update, ” background apps are sometimes getting killed more aggressively than they would expect”. The device will be faster as well.

Meanwhile, Flipkart is putting out one lakh (aka 100,000) units of the Redmi 1s on sale today. As usual, it’s first come first buy, and this is a fulfillment of Xiaomi’s plans to sell at least 100k devices in India every week.
