Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, has officially released a shocker to its fans following the earlier release of some 40 smartphones qualified to get the latest custom ROM MIUI 9 software.
The tech company released the shocker when it revealed that the Xiaomi Redmi 1S which was released 4 years ago will also be getting the MIUI 9.
A latest shocker also revealed that the Xiaomi Redmi Note also released in 2014 will also be getting the MIUI 9.
The Xiaomi devices which were released in 2014 will however come with updates over the Android KitKat interface and the security update which dates back to October 2016.
The Redmi Note will get the MIUI 184.108.40.206.KHIMIEK, while it’s Prime variant will get the MIUI 220.127.116.11.KHKMIEK.
Both versions of the MIUI 9 comes in at around 150 to 200MB with the update rolling out in phases so in case you haven’t gotten yours, it should reach you by the end of the week.
Some of the updates that come with the OS update on the MIUI 9 includes the new UI which sports design changes and additional features including Search for apps in Dual apps, Picture-in-Picture mode, updated Mi Video app, Calendar Cards and plenty more.
