China’s Xiaomi has announced that it shipped 11 million smartphones during the first three months of 2014.
The cool sales numbers were helped with the global availability of some of their devices like the Xiaomi Red Rice and Mi-3. Xiaomi are expecting to sell 60 million smartphones by the end of the of the year, and 100 million in 2015.
With low-cost offerings such as the Redmi Note and Red Rice, Xiaomi’s dreams are on the green, with many analysts calling on the Chinese brand to expand more into new regions.
The private-owned phone company isn’t known for releasing revenue figures but CEO Jun Lei earlier said that the company expects to sell 40 million smartphones, but came out to say again that the company will sell 60 million smartphones this year.
Lei said that revenue was up by 150% from last year’s first quarter and that the company could hit CNY 80 billion ($12.9 billion) in sales for 2014.
