Xiaomi’s Indonesian and Brazilian dream is delayed by “painful device-certification process”

Speaking about Xiaomi’s 10-country mission where it set out to penetrate India, Malaysia, Brazil, and a host of other countries, CEO Hugo Barra said that the long certification countries in Brazil and Indonesia has caused holding back Xiaomi from being available in these markets.

Out of the ten countries, Xiaomi promised to expand to by the end of this year, the privately-backed coy has reached out to three (India, Malaysia, Philippines) while Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico are still on the waiting list.

In reference to the North American region, Xiaomi recently said it will make it’s products available in the United States and Canada in 2015.

The phone maker recently launched it’s current flagship device, the Mi 3 in India but by tomorrow, the phone will no longer be the flagship as the Xiaomi Mi 4 will be introduced.
